INTERESH launches the “We All Share the Same Soil” campaign in Barletta

«Protecting soil is not only about the environment; it is about the future of our communities, agricultural production and territorial cohesion. Through this initiative, we want to give citizens a concrete opportunity to become active agents of change and promote a culture of sustainability based on participation, shared responsibility and innovation». With these words, Prof. Nicola Faccilongo, Coordinator of the INTERESH project, introduced the “We All Share the Same Soil” campaign, launched on Sunday, 24 May, in Barletta.

The opening event took place along Barletta’s Litoranea di Ponente waterfront. Here, citizens, volunteers and local associations came together to take part in the Clean-up Day, held under the patronage of the Municipality of Barletta and organised in collaboration with Retake Barletta, Assoraider Barletta, TEDx Barletta, BarlettaSport 2005 and Legambiente Barletta.

Throughout the morning, participants collected litter left along the coastline, helping to restore an area of significant environmental and landscape value. The initiative highlighted the importance of caring for local places and underscored the vital role that soil plays in protecting the environment and supporting the quality of life of local communities.

Over the coming months, the campaign will accompany INTERESH activities through a series of initiatives involving citizens, associations, institutions and stakeholders. Its main objective is to raise awareness of the crucial role of soil for the environment, biodiversity, quality of life and the future of our territories by promoting dialogue, participation and the sharing of good practices.
